About Jennipher

Jennipher Skiersch Jennipher Skiersch grew up in Carbondale Illinois and received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University in 2014. In the summer of 2015 she moved to Portland, Maine and during her time there she taught pre-k/kindergarten. It was an exciting transition, as she became familiar with new cultures and landscapes. After two years in Maine, she returned to Carbondale and is now enjoying being back in the Southern Illinois area. In her free time she enjoys baking, spending time with her family, drinking good coffee, and being out by the water.

Jennipher's Philosophy of Teaching

Pumpkin Carving To me education and teaching is all about love. I believe in creating a classroom environment that is safe and loving, where all children can feel welcome. When working with younger children, it is especially important to me to have them participate in many engaging, hands on activities. We like to get messy and, most importantly, make learning fun! By having close and positive relationships with all of my students and families I hope to create a community of active, hands-on learners.
